Air Fryer Edamame

It could not be easier to make air fryer edamame! Choose either fresh or frozen edamame, mix with some sesame oil, salt, and pepper, and you are good to go. These make the perfect side dish for an Asian-inspired dinner or a quick and easy afternoon snack for the whole family. Naturally gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. Popping the pods is always a big hit with the kids, so you know they are going to devour them as well!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen or fresh edamame still in the pod
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place the edamame in a large bowl and drizzle with the sesame oil, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.
  • Place the edamame in the basket of the air fryer.
  • Cook at 400 Fahrenheit (200 Celcius) for 10 minutes, shaking halfway through to ensure even cooking, and no stuck bits get burned.
  • If you prefer a more roasted flavor then add one or two minutes to the cooking time.
  • Serve and pop the beans out of the pod to eat.

Notes

You can use fresh or frozen edamame for this recipe.
Storage
Once cooked, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
Freezing
If you plan to freeze the cooked edamame, it is best to pop the beans out of the pod after cooking and then freeze them in a single layer.
This makes it easier to grab the amount needed for a particular recipe as they will not be stuck together.
