Chocolate Granola Recipe
Make breakfast that little bit more delicious with this protein chocolate hazelnut granola. Easily made ahead of time so it is ready for you to grab and pair with some milk or yogurt when you hop out of bed in the morning. Freezer friendly, so make a double batch and always have some on hand for a busy morning.

- 2 cups whole rolled oats
- ½ cup hazelnuts roughly chopped
- ⅓ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup cacao powder
- 4 tablespoon agave or honey or maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon cardamom
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, hazelnuts, peanut butter, cacao powder, and cardamom. Stir well. Then add the agave syrup and mix again until well combined.
2 cups whole rolled oats, ½ cup hazelnuts, ⅓ cup peanut butter, ½ cup cacao powder, ¼ teaspoon cardamom, 4 tablespoon agave or honey
Pour the mixture evenly onto the baking sheet. If you want your granola to be in clusters, press the mixture down with the bottom of a metal bowl.
Bake for 15-25 minutes, stirring after about 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and add the chocolate chips. Mix well until the chocolate has melted.
¼ cup dark chocolate chips
Allow to cool completely before serving. The granola will become crunchier as it cools.
Storing
Store leftover granola in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
It can also be stored in a freezer bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Protein
If you would like more protein in this granola, feel free to add a tablespoon of your favorite chocolate-flavored protein powder when combining all of the other ingredients together. You may need to add a little more agave.
